Yet I get the weird looks like there’s something wrong with my dog. just so that I can TRY to have a positive experience. He’s fine with everything, just no touching! It makes the vet really hard too and I always make sure to get there early and reward me opening the car door, jumping out of the car, walking to the building, etc. I have to tell them sternly to stop because my dog is freaking out and trying to run away. It’s especially frustrating because he’s fluffy and cute so kids always try to say hello and while most often the children are simply happy to feed him a treat others just charge up and go for the head. This! I have a Sheltie and although he loves to greet new people and get treats and even try to play stance, he HATES being pet by anyone but me and my family. I just want all the dogs to be safe and for you to follow the law like every other person. Ive tried talking to the owner and he said, and I quote, "What are you going to do about it?" Pisses me off so much. Once I grab and pull, my golden will go, but since the lab kept coming back he couldnt get the space he needed!! So Im stuck doing the stupid thing and using my body as a buffer between them. My golden tried to pin this dog in a correctorial/border-line aggressive manner and where was the owner? 25ft away, watching as Im trying to haul my 100lbs golden away but cant because that dog keeps coming back and bothering him. The golden doesnt like being charged at and bulldozed into and I cant blame him!! The dog is INCREDIBLY disrespectful, gets in every dog's face, chest bumping them, trying to crawl under (even tho theyre a 60lbs lab). I walk dogs, and a golden I walk is friendly 99% of the time- that 1% is where their dog falls. I hate doing it, and I only do it for 1 dog in a certain neighbourhood.
