![]() ![]() I regularly solo 12s with random loadouts and successfully solo higher levels (without the randomness though). I don't want this for the purpose of making the game easier. I respect your opinion, but I think you may have missed the intent of my request. You shouldn't need a mini-map to navigate and the difficulty that comes with it is a feature, not a bug. Like with those, the answer here is to get good. When the game came out people flooded these forums with "quality of life" suggestions like hellpods not aiming for you or IFVs not dropping in and immediately sounding an alarm. ![]() And if you aren't playing on the couch with someone Helldivers benefits greatly from using a mic - if you choose not to that's your choice, but the game shouldn't assume that in a teamwork game people aren't communicating. Knowing when it is safe to check the map is also a skill.Īlso, a passenger can and should tell the driver where to go. Over time the less experienced diver will get better. I can typically peek at the map and that's all I need to get to the next objective, whereas a less experienced diver is checking the map multiple times (and taking longer each time they look) on the same route. Taking in map information quickly and remembering it is a skill. The answer to everything is to get better and/or teamwork. I feel like you're completely missing the point of the game. But overall, I don't think its something that needs to be added personally. I guess if it had to be in the game, I'd rather it be a more interesting interaction such as an active Humblevee causing the effect as opposed to the vehicle having GPS. Stay in one play too long and you will die, it just doesn't have the capability to handle the largest threats in the game. You're relatively safe from enemies (even on high levels) as long as you keep moving. This is really important with the APC as its more of a transport than a fighter like the HAV. A skilled player can quickly figure out where to go or you can use teamwork to have a sidegunner or even main gunner if need be, give directions. Giving your vehicle GPS capabilities kind of takes away from that and makes the game that much easier. Maybe in a real vehicle it should have GPS while driving, but Helldivers is a fast paced high tension skill based arcade game. I'm not opposed to it in mechs, but I don't think it is as necessary as it is for the driver of a 2-or-more manned vehicle. I'm undecided whether an always-on-map should be in mechs since the driver is also a gunner. So to re-emphasize since all the driver of a motorcycle, APC, Heavy APC, or 2-man tank can do is drive, it is a hindrance to have to completely stop controlling the vehicle in order to check the map. I don't think it would break immersion either to your high tech military vehicle come with GPS capabilities (or at very least imagine the handheld diver map in the driver's lap). It is also annoying as a gunner to either have to direct the driver (instead of focusing on gunning) or have to wait every 10 seconds for the vehicle to stop so the driver can check for directions. As a driver it is annoying to have to either drive blind or completely stop controlling the vehicle's movement to check the mini-map. I think that the driver of a 2 or more person vehicle should not have to stop driving to check the mini-map. I was just thinking about a little QoL item that I've never seen mentioned here before. Again, this isn't going to be enforced heavy-handedly, it's not like a single off-topic rant is bannable, but if you start spamming links to cash-for-click sites or whatever, you will get banned. This includes affiliate links and unrelated content. While we won't ban negative comments and so forth, if you have a repeated history of making caustic remarks for the sole purpose of being confrontational, we won't hesitate to ban - regardless of how monolithic you think you are in the community. ![]() We're not enforcing this rule as a form of censorship, we're enforcing this because subreddits tend to get lots of new players, and the last thing we as a community should do is make people tuck tail and run. Clearly jokes and stuff are fine, but if you're harassing someone, that's not cool. ![]() Other than that, have fun, and be excellent to each other! We're really passionate about the game, so we ask that posts in this subreddit be relevant to Helldivers - other content should go on /r/gaming or /r/games. This is an unofficial subreddit for Helldivers. ![]()
